Lidia Pérez and Cynthia Pérez are sisters who co-founded a restaurant in Austin called Las Manitas. Due to their commitment to the restaurant they have recieved several awards such as the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year Award. The Pérez sisters were recognized as candidates for the exhibit because of their groundbreaking work as Latina business women. They also co-founded a non-proft organization called La Peña that uses the restaurant space to display Latina/o arts and culture. Included is an invitation for a exhibit titled "Los Niños y el mundo" which displayed the artwork of local elementary school students. One of the invitations includes a very personal note from Lidia and Cynthia thanking Lupita Barrera Bryant.
